Week of June 3rd

Good morning gals! Hope you're finally cooling off. Some of the JUGs were lucky enough to catch a ride out of the city for some serious pool time in the 'burbs. Now, refreshed, we are ready to kick off Summer 2013!

What's up this week?

Welp, I avoided working out as much as possible during the heat wave, so now I have some catching up to do. Luckily, starting this week, there are free fitness classes offered in Post Office Square and on the Esplanade. I am definitely intrigued by the sunset yoga next to the Charles River!

June is pretty much a TV desert. No more episodes of The Following, Grey's, Revenge, SVU, The Americans or Nashville for a couple months. But luckily, AMC's The Killing is back for a third season! If you didn't watch the first two seasons, wait for the next summer thunderstorm and get watching - it is a great show - especially for mystery lovers.

And if you are in need of gal time, the Bachelorette is the perfect excuse to grab a glass of wine and a box of cookies with friends every Monday night.

School's out for summer, but that doesn't mean you have to stop learning! There are some awesome lectures going on around town this week. Jeff Deyette of the Union of Concerned Scientists will be giving a talk about his book Cooler Smarter: Practical Steps for Low-Carbon Living on Thursday night. Also on Thursday, animal lovers may enjoy Chimpanzee Futures in a Crowded World: Lessons from Western Uganda, a lecture over at The Harvard Museum of Natural History. I think both events sound amaze, but as I admitted last week, I am a nerd.

The best thing about summers in Boston is that we are so close to some awesome getaway spots. Less than an hour to some of the country's best beaches, and a short drive to great hiking, camping, lakes, and more. I am pumped to head northeast  to Brattleboro, VT for some good ol' country fun at the annual Cow Parade this weekend. I'll be sure to catch some instagrams of our city girl adventure in the green mountain state.

Have a great week everyone!
- Cameron
